Capitalism creates a multitude of issues such as, homelessness, famine, poor wages, poor working conditions, and poor healthcare. These are plagues that haunt the modern world. Capitalism gets perpetuated through states, and this would explain why so many states fail. States and Capitalism go hand in hand, Capitalism requires a state and a state requires Capitalism, it is a neverending cycle. Many of the Communist states of the 20th century fell because of this, a state was formed, the leader who formed it dies, a corrupt leader takes his place, it becomes state capitalist, and then it falls because of the corruption and greed that comes from being in charge of a state. Greed is a huge factor within states and Capitalism and that perpetuates corruption. Stuff becomes expensive while wages remain stagnant, the wealth gap worsens, the poverty cycle continues, basic needs become commodified and then get significantly worsened to save money. The Bourgeois exploit the proletariat’s labor and force us to become slaves to the system and state is created to ensure this happens for the Bourgeois. The Bourgeoisie serve the state, and the state serves the Bourgeoisie, it is a symbiotic relationship between the two parties.
Anarchism and Communism have an extremely similar end goal, that being a stateless, classless, moneyless, society, the thing that separates the two ideologies (Anarcho-Communism and Marxist Communism) is the way to achieve the end goal. Anarcho-Communism and Anarchism advocates for an immediate end to state and an immediate transition into the Anarchist society (This is a very simplified explanation) and Marxist Communism advocates for a transitory state (Dictatorship of the Proletariat) until global communism is achieved. I had already explained the issues of state in the previous chapter. The same issues apply to a transitory state, it still leads to state capitalism and has also lead to mass death in some cases (This was seen in Mao’s China and Stalin’s USSR)
A horizontal government is significantly better than a hierarchical one (State). Because of the nature of a state, if one person gets eliminated, that government will enter a civil war, collapse, or something similar because of the information getting cut off from the top, as a hierarchical government relies on the lower tiers for information flow and this causes conflict between the lower tiers as there is no one to manage. A horizontal system can prevent this because if a node in a horizontal system is eliminated, the flow of information doesn’t halt which allows for more and flexible solutions to arise, it also creates antifragility in the system and this is ideal for any system.
Reactionary politics (MAGA Communism, Misandry, etc.) are a huge negative within politics as they break a movement and also create more opposition (Right wingers). These politics also give weapons to the opposition to go and say “look at what the left is doing, they are insane and don’t hold your interests in mind.” The way it breaks the movement is by not only giving weapons to the opposition but also creating conflict within the movement and causing fractures. It is also extremely ignorant of the ties of these issues to capitalism, so instead of blaming capitalism, the people who follow a reactionary ideology blame a population group (For example, misandry blames men instead of patriarchy and capitalism whilst men make up half the population).
The cause of Anarcho-Communism should be supported because it provides the best of both Anarchism and Communism. It provides things such as the antifragility of horizontal systems and also preventing the creation of state capitalism while also providing the good things about communism such as class solidarity and seizure over means of production.
